Hallander remains on injured reserve for now, but he may be activated prior to Saturday's game versus the Rangers. He is recovering from a blood clot in his leg, which has cost him more than three months of action. Hallander figures to be a bottom-six option for the Penguins once he gets back in the lineup.
Jones is currently on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, but he had been working in the minors while on a conditioning stint. At a minimum, the 28-year-old blueliner will be out of action until March 31 due to his suspension, though that time frame assumes the league starts counting games immediately, even though he is still on injured reserve.
St. Ivany was injured Jan. 25 and had surgery two days later. He is expected to miss up to eight weeks. St. Ivany had seven assists, 40 hits and 23 blocked shots over 17 NHL appearances this season. The Penguins recalled Rutger McGroarty from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a corresponding move.
